Le Riche Cabernet Sauvignon 2023

2023 Vintage — Stellenbosch, South Africa Le Riche is one of the Cape’s most respected Cabernet Sauvignon specialists. Founded by Etienne Le Riche after long stints making wine at Rustenberg, the estate has built its reputation on a single-minded focus: cool-site Stellenbosch Cabernet, classical in style, built to age — leaning towards left-bank Bordeaux restraint rather than warm-climate ripeness. The estate-tier Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of hand-selected parcels from cooler southern Stellenbosch sites — granite and decomposed-shale soils that retain acidity through the ripening window. Fermented in stainless steel with extended skin maceration, then matured for around 18 months in French oak barriques (a small portion new). The 2023 growing season delivered a cooler-than-average finish with timely rains in late summer, producing wines with good freshness, refined tannin and aromatic precision.
