Polycarbonate is a transparent plastic with very good visual properties and a smooth, glossy surface. It benefits from exceptional impact resistance and toughness which makes Polycarbonate panels elastic and virtually unbreakable. They can be used over a wide range of temperatures (from -40°C to 135°C). Polycarbonate is suitable for safety doors and panelling. Subjecting Polycarbonate panels to UV light or cooling lubricants over a lengthy period can embrittle the material, weakening the safety panel. When using Polycarbonate panels with other materials (aluminium, steel), the different thermal expansions should be taken into account.
